Born May 22, 1972, in Welch, he was the son of Ray West and Dixie West-Lusk (B. 1951).
Dustin was a 1990 graduate of Baileysville High School where he graduated with honors, a member of the National Guard and enjoyed sports. He loved being with his family, especially his two daughters.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmothers, Violet Lusk and Maxine Stepp; maternal grandparents, Morris West (1911-Deceased) and Nora H. Lester-West (1913-Deceased); a sister, Florene West-Woodruff (Deceased); four brothers, Rayvonne West (Deceased), Lonnie West (Deceased), Jerry West (Deceased) and Steve West (Deceased); and an uncle, Dennis Stepp (Deceased).
"Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Ray and Dixie West-Lusk; two daughters, McKahla West and Lilly West, both of Hanover; maternal grandfather, Burbridge Lusk of Brier Creek; seven sisters, Shannon Lusk of Brier Creek, Geneva, Irene, Susie, Patsy, Gracie and Kathy; four brothers, Joseph Lusk of Brier Creek, Mack, Freddie and Gerald West; a special aunt, Brenda Stepp; a special uncle, Gary Stepp; special friends, April Jewell and Jonathan Walker; and a host of family and friends.
A celebration of Dustin's life will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Adam Toler Memorial Chapel, Oceana, with the Rev. David Johnson, the Rev. Robert Hunt and the Rev. Tim Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in Stevie West Cemetery, Rock House Mountain, Wyoming County, WV.
