JERSEYVILLE -- Wilma Angela Crowther, 90, passed away at 7:10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, in Jerseyville Hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, in Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville. Private visitation will be Tuesday at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.

Wilma worked as a secretary in Bremen, Germany, and later in New York City, before moving to Illinois to be closer to her family.

She was born Nov. 11, 1922, in Bremen, Germany, the daughter of Wilhelm and Juliane (Sauerberg) Arens.

She married Weber Crowther on Sept. 23, 1952, in Bremen, Germany, and then accompanied him to America. He preceded her in death May 3, 1963.

Survivors include two sons, William E. Deutsch of Alton, and Hans Joachim and Helga Deutsch of Bonn, Germany; 10 grandchildren and their spouses, Charles Deutsch and Jaynie Doerr, Jennifer and Scott Droste, Linda and Ian McAnally, Kristina and Isaac Sandidge, Weber and Amber Berry, Butch and Laura Berry, Billy and Tanya Berry, Eddie and Renee Berry, Tommy Berry, and Erik and Gabriella Deutsch; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Hannelore and Werner Guetschow of Oyten, Germany; one niece and her husband, Michaela and Andreas Anstipp of Oyten, Germany; and two great-nephews, John Hedrick and Tim Nikolaus, both of Oyten, Germany.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one daughter, Karin Deutsch.
