JAS. TOLLIFSON IS ACCIDENT VICTIM- Dies Following Injuries Sustained on Monday:

James Tollifson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Tollifson of the town of Sevastopol, was the victim of a fatal accident while sawing lumber for making fish boxes at his father's home Monday afternoon. The father and two of his sons, James and Alfred, had worked during the day sawing lumber but about 3 o'clock Mr. Tollefson left to attend to his duties as one of the bus drivers for the Sevastopol school, the two young men remaining at the work which they expected to complete in a short time. There remained but three or four logs to saw when one of the boards apparently stuck and when forced through the saw it struck the teeth and was thrown with great force, striking James directly in the face.

The young man was knocked unconscious and when removed to a local hospital it was discovered that he had suffered a bad skull fracture and a fractured jaw, in addition to other injuries, and no hopes were entertained for his recovery. He passed away about 10:45 Monday night.

James William Tollifson was born in Sturgeon Bay and had he lived until Wednesday he would have been 23 years of age. Following a residence in Sturgeon Bay of a number of years, the family removed to a farm in Clay Banks where they lived for some time, later going to Muskegon, Mich. The family lived in Michigan about six years and four years ago purchased the farm in the town of Sevastopol where they have since lived.

Surviving relatives are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Tollifson, two brothers, Alfred and Arthur, and one sister, Dorothy, all living at home.

Funeral services will be held from the Sawyer M.E. church at 2 o'clock this (Thursday) afternoon, the Rev. Otto Philipp officiating, and interment will be made in Bayside cemetery.
