Dale was born June 13, 1947 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Ruben Woods and Inza Evans, and passed away Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Weatherford Regional Hospital in Weatherford, Oklahoma. He was raised in Cheyenne where he graduated high school in 1965. He attended college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Arts in 1970. Dale married Diane Hamilton on November 22, 1968. He and Diane then moved to Denver, Colorado then on to Ft. Collins, Colorado where they had their children Michael Edward and Kelly Gayle. In 1980, Dale and Diane moved back to Hydro where he worked as a drilling supervisor in the oil field. A couple of years later Dale opened Woods Machine Shop and started farming. Dale was a handy man and was said to be able to fix just about anything. He loved spending his time hunting, fishing, and camping at Ft. Cobb Lake.
Dale is survived by his wife Diane Woods, of Hydro, Oklahoma; one son Michael Woods and his wife Shelbi of Hydro, Oklahoma; one daughter Kelly Sharry and husband Landon of Hinton, Oklahoma; three grandchildren Creden Woods of Hydro, Oklahoma and Aspen and Braydon Sharry of Hinton, Oklahoma; a brother Gene Woods and his wife Linda of Simi Valley California, and a sister Faye Hensley and her husband Manuel of Strong City, Oklahoma; mother-in-law Frances Hamilton of Hydro, Oklahoma; sister-in-law Donna Lawles and her husband Chris of Hydro, Oklahoma; nephews BJ Payne and his wife Kim of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Jason Lawles and his wife Amber of Weatherford, Oklahoma and Kyle Lawles and his wife Natalie of Canyon, Texas and Greg Woods of California; also, nieces Heather Bullen of Edmond, Oklahoma and Angela Hargraves of California. Two lifelong friends Hugh "Doc" McClure of Yukon, Oklahoma and Mike Curtis of Minco, Oklahoma; and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his father in law Gale Hamilton and his dog Maggie May.
