Richard Craig Neiding, 49, of Vermilion, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain after a sudden illness.
He was born May 19, 1963 in Royal Oak, MI and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 13 years moving from Traverse City, MI.
Craig graduated from Wylie E Groves High School, Birmingham, MI and attended Oakland County Community College for culinary training. He worked as a gourmet chef at Ric's in West Bloomfield, MI for 8 years and several other restaurants in Michigan, the Florida Keys, and Little Palm Island.
He is survived by his mother, Gretchen (nee Kishman) Neiding of Vermilion; sister, Karin N. Hoover of Mt. Juliet, TN; Aunt and Uncle Karin and Dave Rathbun; Uncle Roger Kishman; nephew, Richard Paul Lentz; numerous cousins including, D. Drew Rathbun DDS, Shelly Innes, Teri Howe, Monica Jenkins DMD, and Ashley Kishman; and many wonderful friends including, Dave and Mary Paul of Vermilion.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Paul Neiding in 1983; paternal grandparents, Conrad and Mildred Rose (nee Cothern) Neiding; maternal grandparents, Lester Henry and Almena C (nee Yingling) Kishman; uncles, Ronald and Jerry Neiding; and aunts, Delphia (nee Cothern) Coutrip, and Darlene Neiding Short.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 5, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at Brownhelm Cemetery, Vermilion.
