M. Ruth Larson, 92, of Wendell, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, in Gooding.
She was born Dec. 6, 1920, in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of William James and Margaret Rutherford. Ruth was raised in Provo, Utah, and graduated from Provo High School. She married Elmer Larson on June 20, 1951, and they settled in Jerome, where they raised four sons. Ruth spent many years working at the Tuesday livestock sale in Jerome and at Dr. Clark's office in Twin Falls. Mostly, she worked as a wife and mother. She enjoyed sewing and crafting. Ruth was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in a variety of callings. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
Ruth is survived by her four sons, Robert (Barbara) Larson of Wilton, Calif., and Bruce Larson, Fred (Jan) Larson and Frank (Vicki) Larson, all of Wendell. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many extended family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three brothers.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, at the Wendell LDS 2nd Ward Chapel, 605 N. Idaho St. in Wendell, Idaho, with Bishop Randy Andrus officiating. A visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Jerome Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the care of Farnsworth Mortuary of Jerome.
