Mrs. Maude H Schonsby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Underwood of Long Prairie died at her home in Birchdale Saturdauy October 7, after an illness of a week. Uraemia was the cause of her death. She was 41 years of age. Mrs. Underwood had been with her daughter for three weeks and Mr. Underwood left the latter part of the week for Birchdale on receipt of a telegram stating that her condition was very serious.
The body was brought to Staples Wednesday where the funeral services were held that afternoon, Rev. J. Steele assisted by Rev. Jenkins, former pastor of the Congregational church. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Maude H. Underwood was born in Alma, Wisconsin, August 25, 1875. At the age of 7 she removed with her parents to Staples where she resided until her removal to Birchdale in 1908. On the 29th of July 1915 she was married in the latter city to Albert Schonsby, who survives.
Previous to her marriage Mrs. Schonsby taught school in Todd, Wadena, Cass, and Koochiching counties for nearly twenty-four years.
She was a member of the Congregational church and the Order of Eastern Star which order was present at the funeral and took charge of the ceremonies at the grave.
Mrs. Schonsby was a lovable character whose kindly and willing services will be greatly missed by all who have known her.
