C.R. Horton dies after brief illness
Curtis R. Horton, age 92, of Quitman, died Sunday, January 17, 1988 in the Pine Hill Senior Citizens Home, after a brief illness.
Mr. Horton was a native of Hico, La. and had been a resident of Jackson Parish for the past fifty-one years.
He was retired from Continental Can Company in Hodge, was a farmer and was a member of the Highway Chapel Church of God near Quitman.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, in the Chapel of Southern Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Rev. Thomas J. Bunting and Rev. Tommy Long conducted the services.
Burial was in the Fellowship Cemetery near Quitman, under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
Survivors include three sons, Truman Horton and D.L. Horton, both of Quitman, and James Roy Horton of Crossett, Arkansas; three daughters, Mrs. Ruby Anderson, and Mrs. Sybil Lowrey, both of Quitman and Mrs. Audry Mae Jimmerson of Heflin; 29 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren and 17 great great grandchildren also survive.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
