Born in Fremont, NE to Joseph and Georgia Brown Lea. Jim served with the US Navy in WWII and Korea, and retired after 42 years from Omaha Public Power District. Jim was a Member of John J. Mercer Lodge #290 AF & AM. Preceded in death by wife of 65 years, Mabel G.; son, James Joseph, Jr.; brothers, Tom, Joe, and George; and sisters, Marge Black, Shirley Iverson, Charlotte Edwards, Lola Scarpino, Nancy McNeill, and Rose Hamilton. Survived by daughters, Kathryn Coder, and Colleen Cauley; grandchildren, Elizabeth Coder, Nicole LaFoe, Joseph Gadbois, and Michaela Cauley; 3 great granddaughters; brother, Fred; and sisters, Elizabeth Hughart, Welaka, FL, and Janice Pirruccello, Fremont.
VISITATION Thursday 6-8pm, with a Masonic Service at 7pm, all at Roeder Mortuary, 108th Street Chapel. GRAVESIDE SERVICE Friday 10am at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 7909 Mormon Bridge Road. Military Honors by American Legion Post #1. Memorials to American Red Cross; Compassionate Friends; or North Side Christian Church.
