Seeling, 97, of Evergreen died Friday, March 2, 2001, in Heritage Manor.
She was a graduate of Northwestern State University, formerly Northwestern Normal College, with a master's degree in education. She taught second grade in Rapides Parish school system for 42 years. She began her teaching career at Boyce, then taught at Poland School, where she also coached the girls basketball team to the Louisiana State Championship. Later she went to teach at Central Grammer and L.S. Rugg. After retirement, Seeling taught at the England Air Force Base school and in parochial schools of the parish.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Alexandria for over 70 years where she taught Sunday school for many of those years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Quincy John Seeling, and one son, Donald T. Seeling.
Survivors include one son, Quincy John "Johnny Seeling Jr. of Alexandria; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Brian Seeling, Randy Thayer, A. Jerry Slocum, Robert E. "Reb" Blake and Crawford James.
Friends may call from noon today until time of services Sunday in the funeral home.
