Was he Drowned?
Edgar Reed Has Been Missing Since Last Wednesday
Edgar Reed, aged 24 years, son of Baxter Reed, living one and one half miles northeast of Lamonte, and who traveled for the Chicago Portrait Co., is believed to have been drowned in the Lamine river near Otterville last Wednesday evening.
Mr. Reed traveled through the country with a team and buggy, and was last seen near Otterville Wednesday evening.
Today information was received here that one of the horses driven by him had been found in the Otterville neighborhood, but there is no trace of Mr. Reed or
of the second horse and buggy.
The belief is that young Reed attempted to ford the Lamine river and was drowned.

Recovered the Body.
The body of Edgar Reed, of LaMonte, who was drowned in the Lamine river, near Otterville, Wednesday evening, the 17th inst., together with the team of horses,
was recovered at 2 o'clock p. m. Sunday. It was found in the same hole in the stream from which the buggy was taken. The remains were taken to Lamonte this
morning for interment.
The funeral service will be held at the Baptist church in Lamonte at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning, the Rev. O. L. Wood officiating. Mr. Reed was superintendent of the Baptist Sunday school there, and in every way was a model young man.
J. W. Reed, wife and daughter will go to Lamonte in the morning to attend the funeral.
