Mrs. Dorothy Frances Rowland, 89, of Swainsboro passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Emanuel County Nursing Home following an extended illness.

Mrs. Rowland was born September 14,1932, in Greenville, SC to the late Curtis Durden and Myrtle Broome Durden. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hubert Reeves Rowland; son, Danny Hugh Rowland; daughter, Patricia Brinson (Clay); brother, Homer Durden; granddaughter, Kandace Brinson. She was a member of Mt. Shady Baptist Church for many years.

Survivors include her son, Glenn Davis (Billie) of Swainsboro; daughters, Debra Hall (David Peebles) of Kite, Dottie Durden (Allen) of Swainsboro; brother, Bobby Durden (Emma) of Gloverville, S.C.; grandchildren, Diane (Joey) Winslow, Stoney Rowland, Bo (Evelyn) Hall, J.J. (Angela) Hall, Davis (Christy) Brinson, Rocky (Lindsay) Davis, Allison (Ashley) Murphy, Allaina Durden; 13 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; lifelong friend, Carol Hooks; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Graveside Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Mt. Shady Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Brad McKenzie officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Rocky Davis, Davis Brinson, Bo Hall, J.J. Hall, Dylan Hall, Ashley Murphy, Dustin Hall, Brandon Meeks, and C.J. Brinson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Dorothy Rowland, to the Mt. Shady Baptist Church cemetery fund.
