CUTLER - Albert L. "Albie" Loos, 71, passed away at 9:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, in St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville.
Albie was born July 22, 1941, in Cutler, a son to Albert J. and Bertha (Epplin) Loos.
He was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church in Pinckneyville and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Sparta. He worked as a coal miner doing mine reclamation and was self-employed. He was a member of 212 Club in Sparta, Knights of Columbus in Pinckneyville, UMWA and Perry County Farm Bureau. Albie enjoyed jet skiing, riding motorcycles, boating and dearly loved spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include two sons, Larry (Paulet) Loss {Loos} and Michael (Rose) Loos; two daughters, Katherine (Warren) Gendron and Christina (Darrell) West; very dear friend, Carmen Loos; two brothers, Clarence J. (Sonia) Loos and Charles (Judy) Loos; three sisters, Florence Dudek, Bernice (Francis) Grabowski and Monica (John) Wilson; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandsons and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ralph E. Loos; one brother-in-law, John Dudek; one nephew and his godson, Kevin Loos.
A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, in St. Bruno Catholic Church in Pinckneyville with Father Richard Mohr officiating. Interment will be in St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Pyatt Funeral Home in Pinckneyville.
Memorials may be made to the 212 Club in Sparta or VNA/TIP Hospice.
