E.C. "Junior" Beck,Jr.,age 77, went home to be with The Lord on Friday, February 22, 2013 at his residence.

A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Ephraim Clingman and Mary Lee Parker Beck. He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Mayburr Beck, Annie Lou James, Rena Ann Mehaffey, and Georgia Gillett. Junior grew up in Silvers Cove. He was a member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church. He assisted in building the Pioneer Village in Maggie Valley and was also featured in the "Log Cabin" magazine along with building many other homes.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janie Lunsford Beck; three daughters, Debbie Jones and her husband, Keith, of Clyde; Rhonda Beck of Candler; and Tammy Lanning and her husband, Randy, of Clyde; a son, Larry E. Beck of Waynesville; a sister, Joyce Clark of Murphy; a brother, Ernest E. Beck of Waynesville; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Worley, Rev. Winfred Bennett, and Rev. Wayne Carson officiating.
Burial will follow at Plains United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Monday (Feb. 25) at the funeral home.
