Charles William Alexander, 374 West Louther Street, husband of Emma Cornman Alexander, died this morning at Carlisle Hospital. He was 65 years old.

He was born on July 2, 1903, in Franklin County, a son of the late William L. and Blanche Jones Alexander and lived most of his life in Carlisle. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Men's Senior Bible Class of the Sunday School. He was employed as a brakeman by the Pennsylvania Railroad for 45 years, retiring on July 31, 1968. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, C. Ebert, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Robert M. Prescott, 211 South College Street; six brothers, J. Grover, RD3, Mechanicsburg; Chester W., RD2; Garnet E., 67 Spring Road; Ray E., 430 West Louther Street, Robert L., with the U. S. Marine Corps, Harold N., Camp Hill; three sisters, Mrs. Arnold Woodrow, 715 North West Street; Mrs. Eugene P. Zeigler, RD2, and Mrs. Robert N. Zeigler, 137 Cedar Street, and two granddaughters, Marianne and Judy Lynn Prescott, both of 211 South College Street.

The funeral service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 South Hanover Street. The Rev. Robert L. Close, his pastor, and the Rev. F. E. Remaly, former pastor of First United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Cumberland Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Saturday evening at the funeral home.
