Frankie Letitia Baker, of Jonesboro, AR., was born Aug. 2, 1924, and passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013.

Frankie's favorite thing to do was learn something new in arts and crafts. She learned to tailor clothing and spent a considerable amount of time creating dresses for her four daughters, including their wedding dresses. Frankie was always involved and supportive of her daughters' activities leading brownies, sewing costumes for plays and dance classes and teaching summer swimming classes by the Red Cross. Not only did she sew but knitted, crocheted, and embroidered. In the 50's, she owned a gift shop and made ceramic and porcelain ware. At one time, she went to a cake decorating class in St. Louis, MO. and made the cakes for her daughters' weddings. In the 70's, she audited all the art classes at ASU did oil paintings, sculpting and pottery. She took weaving classes locally, bought a floor loom and produced art quality rugs and hangings. She was an avid gardener and filled her yard with flowers and shrubs. In 1951 she participated in the Mrs. Jonesboro Arkansas Pageant. Belonging to a family that had resided in Jonesboro from the end of the Civil War she was much interested in genealogy.

A successful marriage of 56 years to local business owner Roland Baker (deceased) produced daughters; Judy (Larry) Clark, Pamela (Pete) Brunson, Margery (Steve) Masterson, and Bonnie Goodman. Grandchildren; Gary Clark, Jessica (Wade) Gregory, Blake Hutchison, and Holly Mabie. Great Grandchildren; Jill Clark, Skyler and Troy Mabie, Cy Orey, Lauren Moore, and Peyton Gregory. Step-Grandchildren; Meagan Hayse, Abigail Kirsopp, Carleigh and Kendall Brunson, Emerson Dudley, Emma and Austin Gregory. Frankie had one sister; Eileen (Joseph) Giaminetti, (deceased) and nephews Joseph and Michael Giaminetti.

A celebration of thankfulness and appreciation of Frankie Letitia Hollingsworth Baker's life was held in the mausoleum at Jonesboro Memorial Park. Frankie was laid to rest alongside her father Walter Franklin Hollingsworth, her mother Julia Ester Turley Hollingsworth and her maternal grandmother Maud Westover Turley. All Services were private and by Emerson Funeral Home.
