Richard "Dick" J. Aikens Sr., 74, of 18 Oakland Manor, Highspire, died Saturday in Holy Spirit Hospital.
He was a retired Army sergeant first class with 22 years' service, a World War II and Korean War veteran, the widower of Laura C. Crozier Aikens, and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Margaret E. Swartz of Colonial Park, Nancy J. Price of Highspire, and Shirley A. Gross and Doris G. Bender, both of Dauphin; a son, Richard J. Jr. of Enola; a brother, the Rev. George F. of Wormleysburg; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Neumyer Funeral Home with the Revs. Robert D. Zook and George F. Aikens officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, West Pennsboro Twp.
