Mrs. Annie Barteaux -

The community of Torbrook Mines was saddened by the sudden passing of Mrs. Annie Barteaux on Jan. 17th, widow of the late John Barteaux, who predeceased her less than a year ago. The deceased was in her usual health until stricken with a shock and was called home within a few hours. She was of a refined Christian character, being a life-long member of the Baptist Church and a faithful attendant, and member of the choir for many years; also an active member of the W.M.A.S. Her sympathetic manner endeared her to all with whom she came in contact, and will be greatly missed in the home and community, always thinking of others before herself. The funeral was largely attended and was held at the house with burial in the United Church Cemetery near by. The service was conducted by Rev. D.B. Wright, assisted by Rev. Theo. Ross. Mrs. Barteaux was a lover of music and several of her favorite selections were sung by the choir. The deceased before marriage was a daughter of the late James and Mary Langly Crocker. Surviving are four sons and one daughter. Percy, Kenneth and Helen of Torbrook Mines, Samuel of Wilmot Sta., and Malby, of Moncton. Two sisters, Mrs. L.M. Gould, Torbrook Mines and Mrs. E.R. MacMaster, Rockville Notch, also four nephews, one niece and eleven grandchildren. One brother, C.H.R. Crocker, predeceased her seven years ago.
