He was an Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was raised in Tremonton, Utah and graduated from Bear River High School in 1973.
He had a love of good roping horses and he loved to team rope. He had great mechanical skills and when he set his mind to something there was nothing he couldn't accomplish. There was nothing Leon couldn't fix or repair.
He is survived by his parents, Lloyd and Lois, two sisters, Linda (Wayne) Earl and LouAnn (Val) Oyler, three children, Sheldon, Ferrin, and Shanna Leece.
He was preceded in death by a son, Brandon.
Funeral services for Leon will be held Monday the 25th of February in the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., Malad City, Idaho (208) 766-4330. A viewing will be held for family and friends from 10:00 to 11:45am prior to the services. Interment will be in the Malad Cemetery.
