MERANDA — Camille Meranda, 92, of Orland, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, in Orland. Arrangements are under the direction of F.D. Sweet & Son Mortuary, Orland, 865-3349.


Camille Meranda returned to the arms of the Lord Feb. 22, 2013. Camille was a life long resident of Glenn County, growing up on a ranch along Hwy 99W just north of Artois. She was born July 14, 1920 to Herbert H. and Marguerite L. Bay in Chico, Ca. She has spent the past 62 years living in Orland. Camille graduated from Orland high School 1939. Camille was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She loved singing and was a founding member of the Glenn Chorale, a member of the happy wanders and St. Dominic's Catholic Church. She was an avid San Francisco Giants fan, she attended numerous games in person and watched the rest on T.V. She
enjoyed working in the yard, playing bridge and traveling, she took two trips to Europe and cruises to the Caribbean and Alaska. She married Vincent Paul Meranda Sr. Jan. 19, 1946, who preceded her in death in 1995. She survived by her loving children, David Meranda of Corning, and Paul Meranda of Sula, MT, Grandchildren, Jared and Ryan Meranda of Seattle, WA and Lesha Guzman of Corning, and great Granddaughter, Camilla Guzman of Corning and a sister Raymelle King of Carmichael, CA. Visitation will Wed. Feb. 27, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Both will at F.D. Sweet & Son Mortuary, Orland, CA. Mass will Thurs. Feb. 28, at 11 a.m. at St. Dominic's Catholic Church, Orland, CA Interment will follow at Orland Catholic Cemetery. Memorial Contribution can be made to the Glenn Chorale C/O of the Mortuary.
