Robert William Covey passed away on February 19, 2013. He was born on October 14, 1955 in Ogden, Utah to Earl William Covey and Roberta Jane Carling.

Surviving are his father Earl William Covey (Wilma), mother Roberta Jane Carling, sister, Nancy Shaw (Steve), sister, Connie Hurd (Loren), brother Mark Earl Covey, sister Pamela Ruth Covey.

He has left behind three nieces and four nephews and many cousins, aunts and uncles, not to mention, the countless rounders (friends).

He graduated from Weber High School in 1974 and from Weber State College in 1977 with an Associate of Applied Science.

He began working at Cross Western Wear in 1972 until its' closing. He began as a saddle makers apprentice and worked his way to be the best master saddle maker-period. After the store closing he continued his mastery out of his home.

In his youth, he enjoyed the competition of rodeos to no benefit of his own body.

Robert has friended every cowboy in the state and ya'll know who we are talking about. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and family. He did the best he could do to live by Roy's rule unless he was being Leonard Slye.

Those lucky enough to cross his path and ride the same trail know what a great person he was and that the admiration and respect was mutual.

Services will be held at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden. The viewing will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. The funeral will be held on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing one hour prior.

The family would like to thank all of his doctors and the staff for all of the quality care that they provided.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Primary Children's Hospital, in his name.

Please send the family your condolences and a memory at www.leavittsmortuary.com
