Mr. Jordan was born the son of Sparkman Jordan and Juanita Jordan on January 23, 1943, in Williamsburg County.
He was a retired truck driver and attended the Happy Home Original Freewill Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and a devoted family man.
Joe and Sara were married on February 11, 1963 and celebrated 50 years together.
Their home was blessed with three children, Daphne (Scotty) Mixon, Donna (Bruce) Cantley, and Bobbie Jo (Stacey) Altman; nine grandchildren, Christina Floyd, Sierra F. Woodard, Victor (Jessica) Floyd, Travis (Brittany) Cantley, Jerrica Cantley, Jordan Cantley, Joseph Altman, Dayton Altman, and Kaleb Altman; and two great-grandchildren, Cody Walker and Abbie Woodard.
He also leaves behind a brother, Elwayne (Linda) Jordan; two adopted sisters, Louise (Charles) Campbell, Geraldine (Wayne) Anderson; two adopted brothers, Jerry (Ivy) Jordan and Earl (Darlene) Jordan; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Jordan.
He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, John F. Jordan.
Funeral services were Saturday, February 23, 2013, at Happy Home Original Free Will Baptist Church.
Interment followed in Piney Forest Cemetery, directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
