Dora was the daughter of Frank and Maud (Johnston) Sackett. Dora Sackett Lester married Donald "Doc" Donahue on January 6, 1962, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island.

She was a member of the Alter and Rosary Society of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She assisted her husband in the farming operation driving tractors, gardening and yard work. She enjoyed traveling in the motor home with Doc after they retired from farming.

Survivors include her husband, Donald "Doc" Donahue, [who passed October 2010], a son, Harry of Dunedin, FL, two grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
