Funeral services for Albert Beard Sr., 75, 426 Hill Street, Buford, will be held today (March 6) at 2 p.m. from New Bethany Baptist Church. The Rev. Billy Barrett will officiate with interment in the church cemetery.
Mr. Beard died Friday in Emory University Hospital following an extended illness.
Born in Hall County, Mr. Beard was a member of New Bethany Baptist Church. He was a retired railroad employee and a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Beard, Buford; a daughter, Mrs. Roy S. Conn, Atlanta; three sons, Marcellas L. Beard, Decatur; Robert L. Beard, Buford; Albert Beard Jr., Buford; a brother, Levi Beard, Buford; 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
