Thomas was baptized on October 15, 1797, at Liverton, the son of George Walker and Jane Temple. He died in Cramahe Township.

Thomas was married (firstly) on May 23, 1826, at Danby, Cleveland District, Yorkshire, England, to Mary Carr. He married (secondly) on July 22, 1844, in Cramahe Township, Northumberland County, Ontario, Canada, to Jane (Wallace) Thompson (born in 1809, in England, died on April 26, 1890, at Detroit, Michigan). She was previously married on August 18, 1841, at Osnabruck, Stormont County, Ontario, to John Thompson. Jane is buried in the Elmwood Cemetery, at Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. Thomas fathered eight children by his first wife and three by his second.

Thomas immigrated to Ontario in 1832 joining his parents and siblings. He owned a farm located at Dundonald, in Cramahe Township, Northumberland County, Ontario.

No headstones have been located for Thomas and Mary. They could be under the grass as were several recently found headstones. There are several open spaces next to the headstones of his young children.
