Jerry Leon Bragg, 63 of Sandstone, died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday September 27, 2007 in the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Beckley following a long illness.
Born April 30, 1944 at Sandstone, he was the son of the late Calvin C. Bragg, Sr. & Virginia Harris Bragg.
Mr. Bragg was retired from the United States Army with 24 years of service. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He was a graduate of Sandstone High School, and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Dale G. Bragg & Calvin C. Bragg, Jr.
Survivors include three sons, Donald Bragg of Sandstone, Dale Bragg of Tucson, AZ and Michael Bragg of Oklahoma City, OK. Three brothers, Harry W. Bragg & wife Mary Ellen of Athens, Roy B. Bragg & wife Carol of Green Sulphur Springs, and Ronald B. Bragg & wife Sharon of Sandstone. Five grandchildren, Jayde Bragg, Jesse Bragg, Lindsay Bragg, Landon Bragg and Tristan Bragg.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday evening September 29, 2007 at Pivont Funeral Home. The body will then be cremated and interment will be held at a later date in the Cooper Cemetery at Sandstone.
