He was a lifelong resident of Monett, attening the Monett School District, graduating w/the class of 1964. He then joined the US Navy, serving a short tour during the Vietnam Era, where he later received his Honorable Discharge & was released. He then was employed by Jumping Jacks for about 5 years. On 1 Feb 1972 Gerald joined the Monett Police Department as a patrolman. He proudly served the community for over 20 years, retiring in Mar of 1992 at the rank of Lieutenant. In Sep of 2000 Gerald was employed by Wal-Mart Supercenter, where he became a People Greeter for many years. He very much loved his job, his associates, as well as meeting the people of the community, but due to his illness was put on a medical leave of absence.
He is survived by son David w/wife Kim; mother Oneida; siblings: Marilyn Hull w/husband Charles, Dan w/wife Karen, Russ w/wife Jemmi, & Larry w/wife Kathy; grandkids: Tasha & Adam Koehler, Jessica & Tristan Walker & Mariah Lombard; great-grandkids: Brayden Walker, Jasmine & Maddison Koehler; also survived by Uncles, Aunts, nieces, nephews, other family relatives & many friends.
He was preceded by his wife Shirley Lombard of nearly 47 years in June 2012, father Naman, brothers Donald, & Tom, son Brian 1987, grandparents Bert & Susan Lombard, Wallace & Hazel Williams.
