MOORE Eloise McConnell Moore, a lifelong resident of Mobile and Theodore, passed away at her home Thursday, February 21, 2013 after a brief illness. She was 93. Eloise was born in Mobile on October 21, 1919 to Charles and Lena Belle McConnell of Theodore, AL, the 6th of eight children.

She graduated from Theodore High School in 1937 and then after working for a short time at Hoffman Furniture Co. in downtown Mobile she was married in 1941. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed being a homemaker and loved gardening, crocheting, word puzzles, feeding the birds and especially visiting with her many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Orman Gene Moore; her son, Orman Gregg Moore and grandson whom she raised, Tyler Gene Moore.

She is survived by her son, Michael Don (Jane) Moore of Mobile, AL; grandson, Michael Jason Moore of Nashville, TN; great grandsons, Drew Mason Moore of Knoxville, TN and Sean Kellan Moore of Atlanta, GA; step grandchildren, Sarah W. (Shane) Irby of Biloxi, MS; Laurence James (Kasie) Irby, Mobile, AL; Kenneth Vick (Mandy) Irby of Mobile, AL and step great grandchildren Jackson, Benjamin and Shawn Irby of Mobile, AL; brother Ben (Lanell) McConnell of Grand Bay, AL; close sister-in-law Wanda Nealy of Grand Bay, AL and many other very devoted friends and relatives.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 25, 2013 from 10 AM until 12 noon at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with graveside services to follow at noon. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to Cottage Hill Baptist Church. Condolences may be offered at www.mmgfuneralhome.com.
