Vanessa Striblin Thomas was born in Guilford County on February 24, 1962 to Benjamin and Annie McDonald Striblin. The Lord called her home Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from Randolph Hospital.

She graduated from Randleman High School in 1981 and pursued her dream of joining the U.S. Army. While serving her country she met and married Leon Gary Thomas. They traveled several countries and states before settling in Randleman upon his retirement. Vanessa was employed by Techinmark, Inc., Asheboro, NC and was a member of St. Peters United Methodist Church where she served on the nominating committee

Vanessa loved shopping, yard sales and collected porcelain dolls with a passion. She treasured spending time with "the girls", family and friends.

She is survived by: her husband, Leon G. Thomas; children, Trey Thomas, Leon Thomas II. And Jennifer all of the home; her parents, Benjamin and Annie McDonald Striblin, Randleman, NC; siblings, Bobby (Sherry) Striblin, and Eric (Stacey) Striblin both of Asheboro, Barbara Smith, Mary (Keith) Ruffin and Kathy Monk all of Randleman, and Johnny (Jeanette) Striblin of Seagrove. She will also be missed by her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
