James R. Sergerson, 41, 1001 W. High St., died Sunday at 1:25 a.m. in St. Joseph's Hospital, Highland after an illness of seven months.
He was a warehouseman for Edison Brothers Store in St. Louis for the past eight years.
He was a previous resident of East St. Louis.
Mr. Sergerson was born Dec. 19, 1932, at Bondurant, Ky., the son of John H. Sergerson and the late Elese Dotson Sergerson.
He married Janet R. Young, Edwardsville, March 21, 1959. She survives.
He is also survived by a son, Craig Alan, at home; two brothers Carl, Sorento and Jerry, St. Louis and a sister Mrs. Ray Beauton Hughes, Belleville.
Mr. Sergerson was a member of Edwardsville Assembly of God Church.
Friends may call at the Lesley Marks Funeral Home after 1 p.m. until noon Tuesday. The service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Assembly of God Church. The Rev. S.D. Schubert, pastor of the Assembly of God Church will officiate.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Edwardsville.
