Evelyn June Lowman, 91, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, in her residence, very peacefully in her home.

She was born Sept. 2 1921, in Fulton County, Ind., to Alfred and Goldie Smoker Ferree.

On Sept. 2, 1941, She married Glenn N. Lowman in Wanatchee, Wash. He died November 1972.

She graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1939. Living most of her life in Kosciusko County. Her and husband, Glenn, ran Lowman's Corner service station north of Akron, Ind., for 31 years together.

She loved the Indy 500 races and only missed two until 2012 since they restarted after World War II. Her first trip was when she was 16 with her parents, she rode in the rumble seat of a Hudson automobile. She also enjoyed traveling around the country with an Airstream Travel Trailer, belonging to the Wally Byam Caravan Club for many years.

Surviving are a daughter: Diane K. (Paul) Schipper, Kokomo, Ind.; a son: Tim E. (C. Marie) Lowman, Warsaw; four grandchildren: Aaron Schipper, Peru, Ind.; Evan (Dina) Schipper, Avon, Ind.; David Lowman, Warsaw; and Wendy Lowman, Warsaw; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Glenn; and great-grandson: Jayden Lowman.

Entombment service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. Visitation and viewing will also be at Greenlawn Memorial Park one hour prior to the service.
