She was a homemaker who formerly worked for several years at Holley Carburetor in Paris. Mary enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning, and spending time with her family. She was a member of Hico Church of Christ.
Mary was born October 24, 1934, in Bell City, KY, to the late Lois Dennis Lamb and the late Mary Louise West Lamb.
She was married May 30, 1953, to William S. Sparks, Sr., who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, William S. "Bubba" (Samantha) Sparks of Paris; two sisters, Linda Sue Nance Orawczyk of Puryear, TN, and Peggy Ann Newsome of Coldwater, KY; three grandchildren, Travis Sparks of Paris, Ethan Torres, and Sara Ober; and one great granddaughter, Lillian Ober.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by four brothers, Clayton Lamb, Billy Burt Lamb, Dennis Lamb, and Staton Lamb.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Walker Cemetery in Paris, TN, with Randy Stephens officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Travis Sparks, Ethan Torres, Brian Scott, Mark Rogers, Gary Montgomery, and Robert Ross.
Burial will follow the graveside service in Walker Cemetery.
