Sarah Frances Scarborough Manning, 75, of Gastonia, died Sunday, May 8, 2011, at Gaston Memorial Hospital. A Service is scheduled for 12:00 pm Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Riverwood Worship Center. Rev. Danny Hoell and Rev. Dr. L. J. Barnes will officiate. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at Riverwood Worship Center. Mrs. Manning was born October 18, 1935 in Gastonia. She was the daughter of the late Lee Delbert Scarborough and Annie Myrtin Grindle Scarborough. She worked for Bell South as an Operator and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She was a lifelong member of Riverwood Worship Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Manning and 2 brothers.
