Ralph, Gordon, Noel, King-Milbanke, 2nd Earl of Lovelace and nephew of the poet Lord Byron. His is an assumed name, his having been born King-Noel. his ashes are kept at All Saints Church, Ockham. His mother was Augusta, Ada, daughter of Lord Byron a woman who is usually credited with the introduction of what we now know as computer logic and after whom the Ada programming language was named. King-Milbanke's father was a keen amateur architect and was responsible for those buildings, in the area, which have the curious feature of having the bricks laid on their side. One such building, a farmhouse, can be see while traversing the old Wisley Airfield, half a mile to the north.
