(Lydia S. Burkey and her sister, Katherine A. Burkey were missionaries to China and both of their passports were issued on 16 June 1903. Both sisters died of smallpox within 3 days of each other. Lydia died on 20 Jan 1904 in Wei-hsien, Chihli Mission, China. Katherine died on 23 Jan 1904 in Tai-ming-fu, Chihli Mission, China.
