Nancy L. Keck, 71, of Stone Croft Road, Drums, passed away, Thursday afternoon, December 6, 2007, at Hazleton General Hospital, after a sudden illness.
Born in Hazleton, on June 6, 1936, she was a daughter of Elizabeth "Betty" (Spohr) Anderson, of Drums, and the late Richard K. Anderson. She was a 1955 graduate of Hazleton High School.
She spent the past 55 years in Drums after moving from Hazleton. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and spent most of her life as a homemaker. During her early years she worked in the meter department for PP&L. She was a very active member of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, St. Johns. She loved her church and all the people in it. She taught Sunday school, was in the Alter Guild for 27 years, and was involved in the pie-making project. She was a den mother for Boy Scout Troop 63, Drums. She also enjoyed camping and her pet love-bird Zazu.
Her funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10 in St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, St. Johns. Her pastor, Sister Janet Stump, will officiate the services. Burial will follow in St. Johns Lutheran and UCC Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. and from 6-9 p.m. at the Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 West Butler Drive, Drums and on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Memorial donations can be made in memory of Nancy to the memorial fund of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, St. Johns Road, St. Johns, PA 18247.
