Mrs. Anna Spevacek, 76, formerly of 1716-22nd St., Two Rivers, died early Friday
morning at Park Lawn Home, Manitowoc, where she had been since Feb. 16, after
being a patient at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. She had been in failing health
for several months.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday at Klein and Stangel Inc., Funeral Home,
Two Rivers, and at 10 a.m. with a solemn requiem High Mass at St. Mary Catholic
Church, Tisch Mills, the Rev. Donald Feller the celebrant. The Revs. Rudolph Kerch,
pastor of St. Lawrence Church, Stangelville, and George Beth, pastor of St. Mark
Church, Two Rivers, will serve as deacon and sub-deacon, respectively. Burial will
be in St. Mary Cemetery, Tisch Mills.
Mrs. Spevacek, nee Anna Dufek, was born June 3, 1884, in the Town of Mishicot,
daughter of the late John and Anna Dolezal Dufek. She attended District No. 7
School in the Town of Mishicot and for two years was employed at Chicago. Returning
to Mishicot, she was married Jan. 9, 1906, to Vit Spevacek at St. Mary Church, Tisch
Mills. The couple settled on a farm in the Town of Mishicot which it operated for 37
years. In 1943, she retired with her husband to Two Rivers where Mr. Spevacek died
in 1953. After that she made her residence at St. Mary Home at Manitowoc.
Mrs. Spevacek was active in the Rosary Society of St. Mary Church for many years,
in 1931, she was chairman of the Ladies Diamond Jubilee Committee of that parish.
Surviving Mrs. Spevacek are three sons, Clarence, of Rt. 2, Two Rivers, Adolph, of
Monte Clair, Calif., and Ben, of Manitowoc; a twin sister, Mrs. Joseph Reich, of
Two Rivers, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Two sisters preceded
her in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday where the Rosary will be
recited at 8 p.m. The Rosary Society will recite the Rosary at 8:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or for funeral masses.
