Laborer Found Dead in Hotel Hallway At 56
TWO RIVERS—
Emil Shusta, 56, an employe of the Hamilton Mfg. Company, was found
dead in the hallway of the Waverly Hotel here where he had been
rooming, at an early hour Saturday.
Dr. Theodore Teitgen, county coroner, who was summoned, said that
roomers in the hotel heard Shusta leaving his room for the bathroom
about 12:20 a.m. Saturday and that they later heard a thumping sound.
He was found lying on the hallway floor.
The coroner said that Shusta had bruised his head by bumping it
against the wall, but a heart attack had probably caused his death.
There will be no inquest.
Funeral services for Shusta will be held at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the
Klein & Stangel Inc., Funeral Home here and at 9 a.m. at St. Luke's
Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery at Tisch Mills.
Emil Shusta was born at Tisch Mills on May 20, 1898, a son of the late
Anton and Barbara Blaha Shusta. Up to 13 years ago when he came to Two
Rivers, he had worked on the family farm. He never married.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Joseph Miller, of Two Rivers; and two
brothers, Frank of Kewaunee, and Edward Shusta of Sheboygan.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 3:30 p.m. Monday until the
time of services. The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home at
7:45 p.m. Monday.
