Graveside services for Ethel McDonel of Hugo will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 4, 2004, in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Rev. Chris Bigley officiating.
Mrs. McDonel died Wednesday, September 1, 2004, at Choctaw Memorial Hospital in Hugo. She was 87.
Ethel McDonel was born February 7, 1917 in Choctaw County, Okla., the daughter of William Franklin Covington and Della Wilson (Bevill) Covington. She has lived in this area all of her life, was a member of the Rebecca's, Square Dance Club, and the Clayton Avenue Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Della Covington, and Lula Covington; her husband of 52 years, Hiram "Bob" McDonel; one son, Donald McDonel in 1998; three brothers and two sisters.
Surviving relatives include one sister, Mittis Lemons of Hugo; numerous nieces and nephews; and one sister-in-law.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6-7 p.m. in the Mt. Olive Funeral Home Chapel.
