Mrs. Wegner was born on Dec. 25, 1931, at Grand Island to George E. and Katherine (Bohl) Beyersdorf. She grew up in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High. She married John A. Boren on Sept. 9, 1951, at Grand Island. She married James E. Wegner on Feb. 23, 1979, at Estes Park, Colo. The couple owned and operated Castle Mountain Lodge and American Country Antiques in Estes Park. Later, Mrs. Wegner worked part-time for Clarke's Hallmark in Fort Collins. Ill health forced her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fort Collins and Nursery for Tots and was a member of the choir.
Survivors at the time of death include her husband, James; two sons, David Boren of Fort Collins and Bill Boren of Tucson, Ariz.; one daughter, Kimberly (Mrs. Bill) Scott of Grand Island; two stepsons, Robert Wenger of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and James L. Wenger of Seattle; one stepdaughter, Carolyn Wetzel of Grand Island; 10 grandchildren; her mother, of Grand Island; one brother, Steve Beyersdorf of Grand Island; and one sister, Sharon Baxter
