Frances (Milligan) Witt

Kibbee Community - Mrs. Frances Milligan Witt, age 75 of the Kibbee Community, died Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at her home after an extended illness.

She was a native of the Long Pond Community, lived in Higgston most of her life and in Kibbee for the past twenty-five years. She worked as a bookkeeper at the Ohoopee Regional Library for many years and was a member of the Higgston Baptist Church. She was a long-time member and past president of the Higgston Women's Club, a member of the Christian's Women's Club of Vidalia and secretary/treasurer of the Toombs County Handicap Citizens Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Witt in 2010; parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.O. Milligan; sister, Sara Smith; and two brothers, Paul Milligan and Aubrey Milligan.

Mrs. Witt is survived by four daughters; Karen Williams and David of Suwanee, Joan Witt of Kibbee, Nancy Blincoe and Bill of Savannah, and Jill Story of Douglas; one son, David Witt of Kibbee; five brothers, Joe Milligan of Tallahassee, FL; Rufus Milligan and Marlene of Callahan, FL; G.W. "Billy" Milligan and Pinky of Cedar Crossing; Mayo Milligan of Lakeland, FL; and Donald Milligan and Sandy of Washington State; two sisters, Ruth Branch of Vidalia and Bernese Callahan and Herb of Lakeland, FL; seven grandchildren; Stephen Story and Ashley of Columbia, SC, Anna Story and Abby Story of Douglas, Paul Blincoe and Sydney Blincoe of Savannah, and Brad Williams and Alexandra Williams of Suwanee, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 23rd at 11:00 am in the Higgston Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Wayne Durden and Reverend Craig Wilkes officiating. Burial will follow in the Pinecrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Higgston Baptist Church on Saturday beginning at 10:00 am.
