ELGIN – Chester E. Hagen Jr., 63, of Elgin, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin.
He was born Aug. 8, 1941, in Chicago, to Chester E. and Margaret E. (McCanless) Hagen.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the "Bay of Pigs," earning the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.
He was an avid golfer and boater, and loved sports cars.
Survivors include two children, Ryan Hagen of Lincolnshire and Josh (Sarah) Hagen of Genoa City, Wis.; six nieces and nephews, Kevin Hagen of Roscoe, Kerry (Barbara) Hagen of Spring Grove, Babette (Patrick) Molidor of Spring Grove, Christopher (Cheryl) Hagen of Algonquin, Heather Hansen-Hagen of Fox River Grove and Steven Hagen of Algonquin; a brother, Terry (Kathie) Hagen of Algonquin; and his former wife, Kathy Struck of Johnsburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Ken Hagen.
Friends of the family may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, at Strang Funeral Home, 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, at the funeral chapel. Interment will be in Fort Hill Cemetery in Round Lake.
