She was born in Sumner, Neb., and moved to Roseburg in 1946 and to Monmouth in 1949. She was a registered nurse and worked at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland. She moved to Corvallis three years ago. She volunteered for the Polk County Election Board and was a member of Monmouth Garden Club and Monmouth Senior Center. She enjoyed reading. Her husband, Merton, died in 1992.
Survivors include her daughter, Pam Sugden of Corvallis; son, David of Monmouth; brothers, Merritt Scoville of Glen Falls, N.Y., and Ross Scoville of Sun City, Ariz.; sisters, Helen Herbst of Portland and Jean Gibbs of Klamath Falls; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Christ Church in Monmouth, where she was a member. Private inurnment will be in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Arrangements are by Farnstrom Mortuary in Independence.
