JOSEPH A. REAGAN, SR., age 86, of Memphis, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013. He was born June 16, 1926 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to the late Sylvester M. Reagan and Eva Annette Matherne Reagan. Mr. Reagan served in the US Navy during World War II, and was a radioman in the South Pacific. After his service ended in 1946, he worked for Bell South, and retired after 43 years of service. He was also in the Memphis Police Department First Reserve Class, serving 33 years, the longest of any First Reserve in its history. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Betty Reagan; six children, Sandra Morales (Joe), Donna Lewis (Roger), Joe Reagan, Jr. (Cindy), Kathleen Marshall (Danny), Patricia Crawford (Steve), and Patrick Reagan (Tonya); three brothers, Pete (Carolyn), Walter, and John J. Reagan (Rita); sister-in-law, Elisa Reagan; 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Mr. Reagan was preceded in death by two sisters, and a brother, George M. Reagan. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, February 21, 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 155 Market Avenue in Memphis. Burial will follow in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Honors will be provided by the Marine Corps League. The family will receive friends at Family Funeral Care located on Summer Avenue, Wednesday, 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
