Jessie Smith. 70, who resided at 315 Sycamore Street, died at 5:10 Sunday afternoon in the Putnam County Hospital where he had been a patient since October 14,
He was born October 19. 1894. in Hancock County, the son of Alfred and Anns Arnold Smith. He had lived in Greencastle for forty-four years and the past twelve years was an employee of the DePauw University. He was a member of the Quincy Baptist Church.
Survivors are: the wife Icy: two daughters. Mrs. WiIma Hunter. Greencastle and Mrs. Waneta Whitlock, Rockville; one son. Wilbur Leon Smith at home; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Asher, Quincy and Mrs. Bertha McCurry, Greencastle: eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p. m. at the Rector Funeral Home. Burial will be in Quincy Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3:00 p. m. Tuesday.
