Mrs. Brabander Rites Will Be Held Today

Funeral services for Mrs. Louisa Manka Brabander, 74, who died at her home, 321 West Seventh street late Friday night, will be held this afternoon from the home with the Rev. O. Hausmann of St. Paul's Evangelical church officiating. Burial will be in the Grand Island cemetery.


Mrs. Brabander's death followed a week's illness. She was born in Illinois in 1858 and came to Nebraska immediately following her marriage in 1878. The first year of their residence in the state they spent near Doniphan. Following several years of homesteading in Howard county, Mr. and Mrs. Brabander moved to a farm near Grand Island and nineteen years ago, took up residence in this city.


Eight children survive. They are: Mrs. Mayme Stolley, St. Libory; Mrs. Anna Tilley, Arthur; Mrs. Emma Haack, Grand Island; Fred and Joe Brabander, Deer Creek, Okla.; Henry, St. Libory; and Gerhard and Edward, both of this city. Twenty-nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.
