Barnes, Jessie , age 83, of Dayton, died February 13, 2013 at Miami Valley Hospital after a short illness. She retired from General Motors after many years of service. Jessie was a faithful member of Phillips Temple C.M.E. Church and enjoyed her leisure time at Wesley Center. Preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Athen Barnes, parents, Garfield and Matilda Johnson. She leaves to mourn, her son, Johnny Wright of Dayton, special nephews, Elmer Johnson and Joshua Jones, 6 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, a host of family and friends. Funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Phillips Temple C.M.E. Church, 3620 Shiloh Springs Rd. Rev. James E. Washington officiating. Interment Dayton National Cemetery. Visitation 9 am Thursday at the church until time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Arrangements entrusted to the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave.
