Asia (Asa) Lawrence Morrison was the son of Thomas Jefferson and Delilah Maynard Morrison.

His brothers and sisters were Melvin M, America (Cassady), Kentucky (McCoy), John Milton,Elkana W, Louisa (Nichols), Emeriah J (Lowe), Mary E and Phillip Jefferson.

He married Martha Francisco(Sesco or Sisco) in April 1920. Their children were John H., Louise M. (Hunt),Reford Haze,and Lucy (Collins).

His grandchildren are: Edward Morrison, Clifford Hunt, Donna Jean Hunt (Haneline), Opal Hunt (Beahm), Irene Hunt (Centers), Marcella Hunt (Johnson), Elmer W. Collins, Mary Jane Collins, and Steve Joe Collins.

Lawrence was an excellent photographer with the vision to take countless picture of the people and places in his area. He was far ahead of his time in leaving a legacy for the future. It was before the time of ease of snapping pictures, and without Lawrence, very few families would have had any pictures to admire or to pass down. From funerals to family to individuals or groups, Lawrence was a master at photography. He and his mule rode countless miles through the years with his box camera ready to take pictures of whatever took his fancy. He was a master craftsman and left a legacy that will make his name remembered. How fortunate the area was to have him and his work.
