Billie Cheek Hays passed away June 9, 2016 at Stella Manor Nursing Home.

She was born in Hattieville, Arkansas on June 23, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Charley Reed Cheek and Rhea Childers Cheek Boland.

During World War II, she worked for an Ordnance Plant in Jacksonville, Arkansas and worked for several years as an inspector for the International Shoe Company in Russellville, AR. She loved her family and had many friends in El Paso, Texas where she lived for 30 years.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in El Paso, Texas and Russellville, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Randolph Hays.

Survivors are her son, J. Bruce Hays of Denver, Colorado, a daughter, Jill S. Hays of Russellville and a brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Glenna Boland of Atkins/Hector.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 13, 2016 at Appleton Cemetery by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 3-5PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
