VINTON: Billy Mountain Craig (Red Horse Mountain), 78 of Vinton died Monday, June 27, 2011 at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton.

Billy Mountain Craig was born October 29th 1932. He went home to be with Jesus Monday the 27th after a courageous battle with health issues. He was a patient at Virginia Gay Hospital at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years Salvia (Sally), a son William (Bill) from AZ, a daughter Bonnie (Angel) from Clarion, IA and 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 great grandchild.

Throughout his life Billy worked for many different farmers around Vinton and for 10 years was an animal control officer. He had a great love for the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and especially his Native American heritage as a Cherokee.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at Harvest Christian Fellowship with Pastor Loel Fink officiating. A lunch will be served at the church afterwards.
